Old Town and pre-Karneval festivities today

Today we went to Old Town for a stroll along the Rhine. The weather was the nicest we've had since we arrived in Duesseldorf in late December. It was rather warm and very sunny. I enjoy days like today. We discovered in Old Town today some festivities related to Karneval which starts this Thursday. It was fun to see some parades and festive costumes. Everyone was having a good day today. I can only imagine what Karneval is going to be like this coming weekend. Crazy days ahead! Stay tuned for the photos of Karneval starting Thursday...

very cool. You are going to love Karneval. Wherever it is, it's just fun all around. In CH, they have beer tents and all for people to party and get out of the cold. So fun with friends!

I saw a bit of Karneval in Köln a few years back. It was really fun. The costumes are so entertaining.

Fun! What are you going to get dressed up as? Make sure you remember your ear plugs, it's going to be loud - day and night. And don't be surprised if perfect strangers try to kiss you. :-)

My word verifcation is szpszloo. That's gotta mean something.

Ha Ha, Christina. Anyway, it's been fun learning about Karneval in both Canada and Germany. I feel like I'm getting my education :)
